New Goodies!

Well....I have to say I am loving my new sewing machine.  It runs so smooth and I am loving the little thread cutter on the side and being able to see the bobbin through the see through plate on the top.  Wonderful....I tend to stress a bit about running out of bobbin thread so my sewing experience seems to be a lot less stressful now....it helps that the machine actually work with bogging up or causing me problems.  Here it is...my new best friend.  lol
I also bought some new fabric recently and a little pair of stork scissors.  Here's a look at what I got.
Can't wait to try out the top two fabrics....lots of fun!!!  My mother in law bought me a pair of scissors too but forgot to put them in the picture....but thank you to her for helping to support my habit.  lol

Here is a sneak peak at my mother's quilt I am trying to get finished by Christmas....I was trimming blocks today and the whole top (minus borders) should be put together this evening or by tomorrow at the latest.

Just an update!

Well....here is a picture of my sons quilt I recently finished.  He loves it!
I also hosted our quilt guild meeting at my house last Saturday so I thought I would post a few pics of the ladies visiting and working on some of their hand work.

New book

I received my new book I ordered today....was pretty excited to get it because I have loved what the quilts look like that use these patterns.  I think I am more excited to read the little stories in it now that I've gotten it.
Looks very neat!!!

Trying to choose

Okay....so these are the two machines I am trying to pick between for my new sewing machine.  I will be buying it on Friday, so any input you may have on either one would be appreciated.
Choice #1 - this is the one I am leaning towards just by reading reviews and the extras that come with it.

Choice #2 - still unsure about this one

Come on Weekend!!!!!

Looking forward to the weekend so I can get my sew on!!
Anyone working on any neat projects at the moment.
I am going to start binding my sons quilt this weekend and then I forgot I need to try to get a baby quilt done this month for a charity project.  Our quilt guild makes baby blankets to donate to the local hospital for the new born babies.  *smile*  I love this project, such a great thing to do for local families.
Thinking I will use pastel fabrics in a half square triangle pattern. *smile*
**some more fox art for your enjoyment.....if you can't tell, foxes are my favorite animal! *smile*

Yummy!

I'm a fan of soups for many reasons....but especially because they are usually low calories and they are yummy.
I ran across a brand of soup in a bag that you just add to boiling water and thought "I'll give it a try".   Let me tell you, the potato soup was wonderful.  My husband said he still liked my homemade stuff better, but for me this stuff was awesome and a lot easier as well.  Think I may have to add my own homemade dumplings to the package stuff though, because....I love dumplings!
We are trying the beef kind tonight.  It already smells wonderful so I am sure it will be good.
The brand is Bear Creek if you are interested and here are some pics of the packaging.

Just have to say it one more time.... Yummy!

Okay....post note...my family didn't care for the vegetable beef but I liked it pretty well.

WOW!!

Not "OH WOW!!!"  but WOW = World of Warcraft.  Yes, I played until recently.  Just stopped my account for the time being.  I really haven't been playing much because I have lost a little bit of interest in it and I am just too busy with my other hobbies at the moment....writing my book and quilting.  Also, there is the demanding family to consider (lol...just kidding honey...love you!)
So.....until further notice, I am through playing WOW even though I do still love the game.
My character Tallee which I have been playing for over a year.  She's a hunter and a lot of fun.

In case you are interested

I realized that I haven't posted any pics of my office/sewing room.  It is a small space, about 6ft by 6ft square.  No closets and no storage space.  My handy husband made me some shelves and I have taken advantage of them for my fabrics (pre-quilting days a few months ago they were filled with my book collection which is now stored in another closet in the hallway outside my office/sewing room).
For the room being a small space, I have it filled with things I love and work spaces to spread out on.
Here you go....take a look.
Here is a pic of my sewing table....it's made to have the sewing machine put inside the table but since the machine that came with it isn't working and the one on the table is a loaner, will have to wait until I get the new machine and let my husband insert the thing into the table for me.  Right now I know I couldn't do a lot of work on the sewing machine as it is because it just sits too high at the moment and it tends to hurt my wrists when I work too much on one project.
This is my office desk space.  Book shelf and printer behind me.  I can roll from the desk to the sewing machine table pretty easily and when I have a big project it is usually spread out across both spaces.  And yes, those are my stuff animals from younger years above the window.  Some things you just can't throw away or give away because they mean something to you.
A look at part of the book shelf my husband built and my sons quilt I am working on is hanging over the door.
My candy apple red guitar....another of my hobbies I just can't get into right at the moment.  Too busy making pretty things.
My bookshelf and fabric collection.  I am just starting so my stash is pretty small as of yet.
Here is my sons quilt....putting on the front half of the binding.  I will do the back side by hand.
Well....there you go.  My sewing room/office.  It may be a small space, but I love it.
