Quilting, book, home, and yard.......oh my!!

Well....I finished Alea's quilt I was making.  It's an Eye Spy quilt so each block is a different novelty patten (button, cats, horses, bugs, sport banners, ect....).  I didn't want to send the quilt off to have the top quilted, too expensive just for a little quilt she is going to be sleeping with and rolling around on the floor with so I just did a stitch in the ditch (as it's called) on it.  It looks okay even with a little puckering on the back of it.  She loved it so I guess that is all that matters despite the faults I see with it.
I am starting Joshua's quilt and it being much larger then Alea's is already becoming a bit of a challenge for me.....the cutting of pieces that is.  I see why the pre-cut stuff is becoming so popular (jelly rolls, cake stacks, honeybuns and such....those are terms used for pre-cut fabric sizes).
I am determined to continue quilting my own quilts together so I bought the necessary presser foot needed to machine quilt the layers together.  Been practicing on little "sandwich" samples on my stippling and hearts and flowers and such.....seems easy enough on a small piece.....We shall see.

The Book - Well....not done much with it lately.  I need to edit it.  In my writing process I left out some Details and I need to go back and make it more exciting and interesting in places.  I also need to send off some query letters to some agents and publishers.

Home and yard - still have some painting to do upstairs...trim work and doors and a closet.  Then that will be done.  I am also wanting to start painting on my kitchen.  We (Michael...lol) is working on our dining room table once more.  We've had it in our garage for a couple years now and we are wanting to get it striped down and painted.  He pulled it out and worked on it some more last night....eventually it will get done.  The yard looks nice but the 100+ degree heat has taken it's toll on some of the grass and has started making my radishes seed out even though they aren't ready to even be picked yet.  Oh well.

Over all things are good....Life is good.....and We are enjoying it!  Hope life finds you the same dear readers!!!

Tell me what to talk about....

So.....What shall I talk about today??  How I helped my husband this weekend unload two grain bins into the wheat truck and how tired I was afterward?  Or how we went to a cousin get-together and deciding that I would have rather not gone (with the exception of seeing a few choice relatives it was kind of a waste of time.) **smile**

I think I will mention my new office.  Needless to say, I love it.  My wonderful husband built me a new bookshelf (smaller then the last one but plenty of space still....for the moment).  I love sitting at my desk with the window open enjoying the breeze blowing in.  It's lovely!!!

I'm also going to put into writing that I have to start working on my own body.  Getting rid of some weight and just feeling better about myself overall.  It's important for myself and for my family.  Going to start taking walks around my neighborhood and also taking walks in the wonderful park we have here that has a great walking trail.  I am going to start doing Zumba (at home) again as well. I have a lot of neat videos on my computer and I just need to make myself do them.

Well....I guess I am done rambling for the evening.  Good Night my few followers!!!  **smile**

Finished at last!!!

At last at last...I'm finished at last.  The book I am working on it complete.  I have to transfer the last two chapters from paper onto my computer (because I always write everything by hand first) and then I need to do one or two good edit jobs through it.....then will begin the agent finding and publishing process.  I was going to try to self publish on an e-book site but I am still wavering back and forth.....to self publish or to try my hand at getting someone to like my work and publish it for me.  Decisions Decisions!!!!
I have four other stories began so I will be going over them to see which one will be my next potential novel.
So very exciting and so very excited!!!!

I may not....but I am

I may not be as good of a writer as my favorite authors....but I am trying.  I may not have words in my story that flow through your mind like water tumbling over the stones in a brook all in melodic accord....but I am trying.  I may not have well defined characters that make you want to be them, hate them, love them, or envy them....but I am trying.  I may not paint a picture for you to see with words like an artist does with paints....but I am trying.  I am trying ....and that's all I can do.  That doesn't mean I will ignore the flaws and just go on just because I don't feel the words I write are what I want them to be.....I will try to improve, try to expand, try to create a complete package when I am through!

Sorting....and More Sorting!!!

Received a lot of books over the weekend.  It was great to get sooo many for the store, but it will take me awhile to get them sorted and inventoried.  Excited though....it's great to be able to get started soon and get the ball rolling.

Inaction leads no where!!

Please read on if you would like to know more and might possibly want to help me out a little bit or read on if you know others who might be interested.

I am in the process of trying to get my online store up and running but I am seeking your help. I am looking for free will donations of used books of all types (the more current the better on novels, hard bound or soft bound, gently loved children and young adult books, older books – once again gently loved, and poetry books). CD's (in their original case or in a hard case preferable), DVD's, and Audio books on CD's. No text books, encyclopedias and items of this sort please, they become dated too quickly.
I am also looking for neck ties.....that's right, I said it, Neck Ties....Even the ugly ones!!! **smile**

I would like to offer all who donate a 15% discount on their first purchase from my store but unsure how to do that as of yet. I will however write your name in my records and your contribution will not be forgotten.

The online used bookstore is still a work in progress and a webpage has not yet been set up. As soon as everything is ready and working I will notify everyone through facebook, email, fliers and/or word of mouth.

I will be in Alva soon for friends and family members who live there or near by. Just contact me to let me know you have items that I need to pick up. For those of you who live out of town/state and wish to contribute, I can get you my mailing address and you are welcome to send them using the post office media mail (it is cheaper then using the regular mailing services) but I understand if you don't want the expense of shipping me your things.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any donations you wish to make.
